Q: What's on the CDs?
A: There are four different CDs, with two different music formats. Each CD contains forty-five minutes of royalty free on hold music and are available with and without the voice messages.
- Classical with messages - sophisticated, light orchestral selections with voice content
- Classical (music only) - sophisticated, light orchestral selections
- Contemporary with messages - upbeat, light instrumental music with voice content
- Contemporary (music only) - upbeat, light instrumental music
Q: What kind of voice messages are on the CDs?
A: Several messages appear on the disc. Messages are read by a variety of professional female voice talent. All messages say something similar to: "Thank you for holding, we appreciate your patience. Please stay on the line and we'll be right back with you."
Q: How often are the messages repeated?
A: One per minute.
Q: Can I get a music on-hold CD without the messages?
A: Yes. Both versions (Classical and Contemporary) are available in "Music Only" format.
Q: Do I have to pay additional music licensing fees?
A: No. All music material on the CDs is licensed to the user for the express purpose of playing on-hold. No other royalty fees are required by ASCAP, BMI, or any other music licensing agency.
Q: Do the CDs play continually?
A: Yes. Using a CD player with a repeat function, the disc will repeat over and over until it is turned off.
Q: What will I need to play these CDs on-hold?
A: Two things. First, you'll need a continuous-play CD player (any portable CD player will do). Second, you'll need either a music-on-hold adapter (shown below) or a music-on-hold ready PBX phone system.
